There's something about the feel and aesthetics of a separate app that was just more pleasing than "durr go to our website instead durr".The app just did the things it was supposed to do without making users jump through hoops. With the app, I never had to refresh the stream after a raid to be counted as a viewer. As a low-end PC user, the Twitch app allowed me to watch without all the extra overhead that comes with browsers. The Twitch app was the most convenient way for me to watch my favorite channels because I could open and close my browser as needed without worrying about interrupting the show. I am not one to leave browser tabs open.In support of the Twitch App, let me count the ways.
